This cocktail is an elegant twist on the classic Gin Sour. It is designed to enhance the pure juniper distillate and the vibrant citrus notes of your gin, transporting those who taste it directly among the rows of the Piana di Catania. It is perfect for a refined and refreshing aperitif.

- 50 ml of Speciale Sicilian Orange Gin
- 25 ml of fresh lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 15 ml of sugar syrup
- 4-5 fresh basil leaves
- Large ice cubes
Preparation
- Place the basil leaves and the sugar syrup in a shaker. Press gently with a muddler to release the essential oils of the basil without tearing the leaves.
- Add the Speciale Sicilian Orange Gin, the lemon juice and fill the shaker with plenty of ice.
- Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds.
- Pour the contents using the double strain technique (filtering with both a strainer and a fine mesh strainer) into a previously chilled Martini glass or Nick & Nora glass.
Garnish
A thin orange peel — remember to lightly "squeeze" it over the glass to vaporize the essential oils onto the surface of the drink — and a small basil leaf.
